We are hiring Tax Assistant for a diamond & jewellery making group. Tax Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with various tax-related tasks, including tax preparation, compliance, and research. You will work closely with the Tax Manager and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax activities. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of Indian tax laws, strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Job Description:
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of tax returns, including income tax, GST, TDS, and other applicable taxes.
2. Gather and organize financial data, receipts, and supporting documents required for tax filings.
3. Input and maintain accurate tax-related information in the company's tax software or spreadsheets.
4. Conduct basic research on tax laws, regulations, and updates to support the tax team's decision-making process.
5. Assist in reconciling tax accounts, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues.
6. Prepare tax-related schedules, reports, and documentation as required.
7. Assist in responding to tax notices, inquiries, and requests from tax authorities under the guidance of the Tax Manager.
8. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of tax-related transactions.
+. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of tax filings, supporting documents, and correspondence.
10. Stay updated on changes in Indian tax laws, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
11. Support the Tax Manager in various tax projects, including tax planning and process improvements.
12. Assist with tax audits by gathering requested documents and providing necessary support.
13. Provide general administrative support to the tax department, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining files.
Qualifications:
1. B Com with experience of working in taxation matters.
2. Basic knowledge of Indian tax laws, including income tax, GST, TDS, and other relevant tax areas. Previous experience or coursework in taxation is a plus.
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling numerical data.
4. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
8. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
