As a Tax Manager, you will serve as a key liaison between the tax function and internal stakeholders, driving critical initiatives across compliance, advisory, and strategic planning. You will coordinate timely, accurate responses to tax authority inquiries, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure alignment and clarity. Your expertise will support the preparation of complex documentation, guide internal teams through nuanced tax issues, and shape forward-thinking tax strategies. With a strong foundation in project management, you’ll independently lead cross-functional efforts, balancing technical precision with strategic foresight to improve processes and meet organizational goals.
Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth tax research and deliver timely responses supported by authoritative tax code citations and/or systems-based analysis.
Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to minimize gross receipts tax liabilities, including drafting and filing refund claims with supporting documentation.
Champion process optimization by recommending and implementing efficiency improvements, with a focus on leveraging emerging tax technologies.
Analyze and document complex transaction tax issues, ensuring accuracy in filing positions, processes, and compliance strategies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Audit, Accounting, Sales, and Technology teams to align tax strategy with broader business objectives.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members to support their professional growth and performance.
Lead or support ad hoc tax initiatives and special projects as assigned, applying strategic insight and technical expertise.

Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (Required)
4-7 years experience with Progressively responsible multi-state tax experience with emphasis on research, tax planning, compliance and audits within the telecommunication industry. Required

Base Pay Range: $82,800 - $149,500
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
