The Tax Operations Manager/Senior Manager will play a crucial role in supporting a culture of quality and operational excellence within the tax department. This position involves the development, implementation, and optimization of tax processes to enhance operations, manage risk, and improve staff experience and service delivery. The operations team works collaboratively with tax leaders and practitioners to identify and integrate solutions that enhance and streamline processes, which ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations and alignment with current tax business goals.

Responsibilities:

Lead efforts in documenting and standardizing processes, including identifying and addressing process and reporting requirements to enhance operational efficiency and risk management.
Leadership with compliance monitoring programs, including driving result analytics and developing process improvements.
Understand and advocate for tax best practices, including contributions to their development and creative solutions to enhance adoption.
Invest time and energy into bringing new ideas and suggestions to the operations team.
Assist in the change management messaging across the tax team.
Lead and participate in various operational projects and initiatives.
Develop a solid understanding of the firm’s resources and processes.
Create relationships with various leaders across various office locations.
Support and coach other operation team members.
Qualifications needed:

Tax background and 5+ years of public accounting experience.
Proven experience in leading and managing teams and projects.
Demonstrated ownership and reliability.
Ability to think strategically and align tax operations with overall business goals.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Creative thinker with a practical approach.
Effective problem-solving skills and ability to identify potential issues and risks.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
General project management skills.
Ability to understand projects in the context of the bigger picture.
Proficiency in Excel.

We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience is provided in accordance with applicable state requirement. Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO or IL. Please review the position location for the applicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows: $9,583.33 - 13,750.00
Illinois monthly base range is as follows: $9,958.33 - 14,166.67
