Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The Tax Preparer will also provide clients with valuable insights into their financial situations, helping them make informed decisions. Must have completed Level 1 of the H&R Block Tax Academy course.
Responsibilities
Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses in a timely manner.
Analyze financial data to identify potential deductions and credits.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Perform account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial records.
Assist clients with accounts payable processes and payroll management.
Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, to manage client accounts effectively.
Provide guidance on budgeting strategies to help clients optimize their financial health.
Conduct financial auditing as necessary to ensure accuracy in reporting.
Communicate effectively with clients to address questions or concerns regarding their tax situations.
Qualifications
Proven experience in tax preparation or a related field is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of budgeting, payroll, and accounts payable processes is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
