About the role
This role will:
o Independently prepare financial statements, prepare month-end and year-end financial reports for clients and statutory bodies.
o Prepare and lodge customer tax returns for individuals (including rental income, capital gain/loss, dividends, share trading/income, business income, income from partnerships/trusts and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds).
o Prepare and lodge customer tax returns for companies (including capital gains/losses, foreign income, depreciation of tax deductible assets, declaration of assets versus liabilities, payroll tax & FBT returns).
o Independently prepare and review BAS and IAS.
o Research and interpret tax and other relevant legislations, and draft advice or technical papers.
o Liaise with ATO, ASIC and other government bodies.
o Tax planning with clients and advising customers of their taxation obligations, consequences, refunds and repayments.
o Advise clients on stamp duty and other tax obligations.
o Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, as well as prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
o Other ad hoc tasks assigned by manager.
Requirements:
o Bachelor degree or higher qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
o Minimum two years of relevant experience in accounting and closely-related accounting experience
o Vast knowledge in accounting, taxation, high operational knowledge in accounting systems
o Be fluent in oral and written English and Mandarin, and fully understand Chinese culture
o Have strong communication skills, and attention to detail
o Have a strong work ethic
o able to work autonomously and as part of a team
o Be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
o Working towards/Completion of CA/CPA is an advantage
