As a TAFE Teacher you will have the opportunity to impart your extensive industry knowledge and experience to students using a variety of delivery methods including in the classroom, online, and workplace. The Role

We have an exciting temporary full-time position available from 18 August 2025 until 1+ December 2025, unless otherwise determined, to join our Educational Delivery team in Carpentry at TAFE Queensland's Toowoomba Campus.

As a TAFE Teacher in Carpentry, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

This position reports to the Educational Team Leader.

Salary

The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $88,7++ - $118,528 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent, and the following:

current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
current Queensland Driver's licence.

Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:

TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B); or
TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor; or
A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

Highly Desirable

Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:
CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction or equivalent;
High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems).

Demonstrate capacity for best practice in the management of teaching and learning activities including the development of industry relevant, flexible, innovative, technology enhanced learning options, training products and solutions.
Demonstrate capacity for initiative, self-management, teamwork and sustainable practice, with the ability to accept, promote and manage change through the use of well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate commitment to self-development with the focus on maintaining skills contemporary industry and teaching practices and the use of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems to support learning.
Possess sound knowledge of safe, equitable and anti-discriminatory work practices and demonstrate ability to be flexible, inclusive, responsive and deliver quality student experience.
