About the Role
A fixed-term position is available within VU English (VUE), Victoria University's English language centre. VUE delivers a range of English Language Programs (EAP, General English, Study Tours) to international students that are designed to help improve their language and academic skills so they can transition into a VU University course. This role reports to the Manager, VU English.
As an ELICOS Teacher within VUE for General English and English for Academic Purposes, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality education to students from a range of linguistic backgrounds
Delivering onsite with the possibility of remote delivery if the centre requires it
Contribute to the development of learning and assessment resources
Monitor, evaluate and assess student English language progression and successful course completion
Salary and Conditions of Employment
This is a full time, fixed-term role until 22 July 2026 at 1.0 FTE, 38-hour work week. The salary ranges from $89,911 to $114,008 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus 17% superannuation.

The successful candidate will need to
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree
An approved TESOL qualification (CELTA/ Graduate Diploma or Master in Education: TESOL)
Hold a current Employee Working with Children Check or VIT or willingness to obtain one
A flexible approach to teaching that utilises effective teaching methodologies
Experience working with an international student cohort is preferred
CERT IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain one
