Position Information
Jordan Springs Public School was established in 2020. The school is located in Western Sydney adjoining the city of Penrith. As a developing community, the school has strong community involvement links that support a multicultural and inclusive ethos. With a student population in 2026 of 1,124, the school has maintained an enrolment trajectory that increases annually. The current student composition includes 9.3% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 44% from a language background other than English. The school has three support classes for students with a diagnosed disability and additional needs.

Selection Criteria
Approval to teach primary English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in EAL/D qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement high quality engaging and effective differentiated teaching and learning EAL/D programs and resources to maximise the learning outcomes of diverse learners.
Ability to guide teachers in effective use of the ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales and work collaboratively with staff on whole-school data collection and reporting practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience in working collaboratively with teachers, school leaders and families.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher EAL/D qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 12 months months. This is a permanent part-time position of 4 days per week, 0.8 FTE (full time equivalent).
