ACG Strathallan Preschool is seeking a passionate and motivated ECE Teacher in Training to join our team in a permanent, full-time position commencing May 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the planning and delivery of engaging, play‑based learning experiences aligned with Te Whāriki.
Build warm, respectful relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
Assist with observations, documentation, and learning stories to track children’s progress.
Apply learning from your ECE studies into daily practice while working toward your qualification.
Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through responsive interactions.
Uphold centre policies, health and safety procedures, and child protection requirements.
Participate in team planning, reflective practice, and professional development activities.
Help maintain well‑organised, high‑quality learning spaces and resources
Communicate positively and professionally with whānau and colleagues to support strong partnerships.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
A genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting young children’s learning and development.
Current enrolment in a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification and a commitment to ongoing study.
Warm, respectful interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children and whānau.
A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn from experienced teachers.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative teaching environment.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with colleagues and documenting learning.
An understanding of Te Whāriki and a desire to grow capability in play‑based, child‑led learning.
Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to follow centre policies, health and safety requirements, and daily routines.
