Position Information
Hurlstone Agricultural High School has an enrolment of 964 students, including 4 Aboriginal students and 1 Torres Strait Islander student and 219 English as an additional language or dialect language students (EAL/D). Hurlstone Agricultural High School is the only NSW Government fully selective, coeducational, agricultural, boarding high school. It is located in Glenfield, 36 km south west of the Sydney central business district. The school nurtures the whole child in an inclusive environment where high potential and gifted learners are known, valued and cared for.
This position will include supervising the SLSO team and reporting to the Heat teacher Teaching and Learning. In addition to supporting students int he classroom the role will encompass accurate data collection and analysis, preparation of Personalised Learning and Support Plans and creating strong links with the parent community.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach students with learning and support needs [Secondary] and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs [Secondary] in regular classes.
Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needed and their teachers.
Demonstrated ability to collate and analyse data to meet administrative requirements and support student learning.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
This is a permanent part-time position of 0.5 FTE (full time equivalent)
