Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable 11+ Teacher to deliver engaging and structured lessons to Year 5 students preparing for their 11 Plus entrance exams. All lesson materials will be fully prepared for you, allowing you to focus on teaching. This role is ideal for someone with teaching experience who enjoys working with high-ability students in small groups.

Duties

Teach pre-prepared 11+ lessons to Year 5 students (English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning)
Manage a small group classroom setting (typically 6–12 students)
Create a supportive and focused learning environment
Occasionally mark assessments or student work, particularly mock exams
Provide verbal feedback to students and escalate any issues to the Head Teacher if needed
Maintain class discipline and ensure students stay on task
Teach regular term-time sessions (3 hours per week per class, with 3–4 classes)
Be available to teach daytime sessions during Easter and Summer holidays
Qualifications

Previous teaching experience is advantageous but not mandatory for enthusiastic candidates.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in lesson planning and assessment.
A genuine passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs of students.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience teaching KS2 students (11+ experience preferred but not essential)
Strong command of English and Mathematics
Confident classroom presence and excellent communication skills
Punctual, reliable, and professional
Able to follow structured lesson plans while engaging students
DBS checked (or willing to undergo a DBS check)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
