This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

The Role

This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn for all students.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop high level teaching skills in a supportive environment in order to significantly improve the future of students at educational risk. Professional knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice and supporting students’ social and emotional wellbeing is preferred. A sound understanding of The Western Australian Curriculum and the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework are essential.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are highly desirable.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Mount Magnet District High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $7 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
