Join Our Whānau – Casual Teacher Support | YMCA Taranaki Childcare Centre
Are you warm, energetic, and passionate about supporting tamariki (children) in their early years? YMCA Taranaki is looking for a casual Teacher Support to join our vibrant Early Childcare Centre team and help create a nurturing, playful, and safe environment for our little learners.
Our community-based centre is licensed for 49 children — including 19 under 2s and 30 over 2s — and we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality care that supports every child’s development and wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll be working alongside our qualified teachers to support the daily care, learning, and play of our children. Every day is different, and every moment is an opportunity to make a positive impact.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:
Calm, caring, and genuinely loves working with children
Passionate about learning through play and child-led exploration
A team player with a great sense of humour and positive energy
A strong communicator (both verbal and written)
Proactive, reliable, and shows initiative
Able to build strong relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues
Experienced in early childhood settings (preferred)
Flexible to work rostered hours between 7:00am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday

Eligibility
