The Teaching Assistant will support the Education Department at the Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility
The individual will supervise students in the absence of the classroom teacher and provide assistance with classroom activities, assignment monitoring, and behavior management
This role requires collaboration with various departments to foster a supportive learning environment for students
Classroom Supervision: Oversee students in the absence of the teacher, ensuring attendance, behavior, and assignment completion are properly monitored
Instructional Support: Provide guidance to students on completing assignments left by the teacher
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily records, including attendance and behavior reports
Incident Management: Follow protocols during critical incidents to prevent injury, escape, or property damage
Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and facility matters
Collaboration: Work with other departments to enhance student learning and development
Reporting: Submit written reports and participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams as needed
Training and Certifications: Attend required training and obtain necessary certifications, including a substitute teaching permit (candidate covers the $35 fee)
