We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader - Credit Assessment, to lead our dynamic credit assessment teams in the successful delivery of IMB’s lending objectives through timely and quality assessments, approvals and transactions across all channels.
Reporting to the Manager, Lending Assessment we will welcome your leadership and credit assessment expertise to support the team in providing service excellence to our lenders and customers. You will play an important role in promoting continuous improvements and enhancements of our processes and systems and ensuring our deals are structured and submitted in line with policy, compliance, and service level standards.
The role
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the credit assessment teams, including task prioritisation, coaching, workflow management and performance monitoring
Review and provide decisions on lending applications as required in adherence to credit policies and procedures
Prepare reports and analyse data to identify trends and support strategic decision-making
Play a key role in Operational Risk Management across the assessment team
Lead change management initiatives and act as a subject matter expert by providing technical expertise on assessment systems and processes
Coordinate the implementation and communication of operational updates and strategic project changes
Building and maintaining trusted relationships through engaging, supporting, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure efficient, effective credit decision-making and optimal time to ‘yes’.
The Person
Effective leadership experience, within a credit assessment/lending support function within a retail bank/financial service
Proficient credit skills and experience in consumer lending - preferably using Lendfast or a similar automated system
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound credit decisions
Commercial acumen with the ability to help lenders through a deal and offer alternative solutions when needed
Strong knowledge of all laws and regulations governing the provision of regulated and unregulated loans in Australia
The ability to foster great working relationships and work with other business units in facilitating strategic projects
Proficient technology and effective communication skills
The capacity to facilitate, embrace and contribute to change and help drive improvements
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Finance, Accounting or Business, or equivalent experience.

Our Head Office located in Wollongong is a fresh, newly constructed state of the art building with great amenities and close to shops, cafes and the beach. The successful candidates will be required to attend the office under our hybrid working model, the frequency will be dependent on residential location.
