Are you a qualified and experienced plumber ready to take the next step in your career?
Fitzroy River Water is looking for a hands-on team leader with strong experience in plumbing, drainage, or pipelaying projects to lead a dedicated crew responsible for maintaining and upgrading the region’s water and wastewater infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll lead a multi disciplined crew responsible for delivering essential maintenance and capital works projects – including the construction and refurbishment of new and existing infrastructure. Your day-to-day will involve leading a multi disciplined team on-site to control all aspects of both planned and reactive maintenance activities on water and wastewater infrastructure. This role will also include planning and organising jobs, conducting maintenance and testing of water and sewer mains (including hydrants, valves and fittings) and ensuring all work meets Fitzroy River Water’s high standards.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
Trade qualifications to operate as a registered Licensed Plumber and Drainer in Queensland .
Good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to contribute to and uphold Council’s Safety First culture.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Possess and maintain a Backflow Prevention endorsement from the Master Plumbers Association of Queensland.
Applicants who are licenced and experienced in plant operations, particularly an excavator and hold a Working at Heights and Confined Space qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.

Trade Qualifications to operate as a Licenced Plumber and Drainer in QLD and experience in the construction, installation and refurbishment of new and existing water and wastewater reticulation infrastructure.
Knowledge of the requirements of AS 3500 – National Plumbing & Drainage Code and Plumbing & Drainage Act 2002 and experience completing manual tasks within the water and wastewater industry using associated tools and equipment safely.
Ability to lead, motivate and supervise a team.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to exercise good interpersonal skills dealing with all key stakeholders in a positive manner.
