Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity in our Regulatory Services team for a Team Leader Parking Services. You’ll play a key leadership role in supporting a safe, accessible, and well‑managed transport network by leading the delivery of parking services and compliance activities across the city. This includes:
Lead, support, and develop your team to achieve goals, build capability, and work collaboratively.
Model DCC values, encourage accountability, and foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
Manage overall operations and ensuring efficient, high-quality service to the public and other stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused parking compliance services that promote responsible community behaviour.
Ensure the Parking Services team meet specified management plans, regulations, policies, and standards.
Continuously review and enhance systems, processes, policies, and procedures by leveraging technology, collaborating with key stakeholders, and applying industry best practices to improve service delivery and achieve cost‑effective outcomes.
Professionally fulfil Council’s statutory responsibilities by enforcing parking regulations in accordance with the Land Transport Act 1998, the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999, Council bylaws, and key policies, including Commercial Use of Footpaths and Abandoned Vehicles.
Design and deliver effective technical training and induction programmes, assess, and oversee technical competency, and provide expert guidance and constructive feedback to build capability, support decision‑making, and enhance team performance.
What we’re looking for:
A tertiary qualification (National Diploma Level 5 or National Certificate Level 6) or equivalent relevant experience.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably within a compliance or regulatory environment.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to support, guide, and motivate staff.
Ability to understand, accurately interpret and apply a range of legislation, bylaws, policies, and standards.
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to handle complex and sensitive situations.
High levels of integrity, resilience, and sound judgement.
A full driver’s licence.

Salary range: $81,140 - $95,459
