POSITION TITLE: Tech Pro - Biology Lab Technician
COMPENSATION RANGE: 2,104.25 - 2,104.25 USD per year
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Temporary

Position Summary & Job Duties:
This person will be responsible for training our new Lab Coordinator who starts August 1. The Biology Lab Technician will be responsible for making sure the new person has the ability to: (1) prepare and coordinate the equipment and supplies for multiple laboratories; (2) order equipment and supplies for the department; (3) maintain the prep rooms and the online chemical inventory; (4) supervise of undergraduate students working in the prep room; and (5) guide the new hire through safety training. This will include familiarizing the new hire with software and files required for the position and the locations of equipment, facilities, and chemicals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience as a lab coordinator.
Experience with software required for maintaining chemical databases and ordering supplies.
Lab safety training.
Familiarity with UNC purchasing protocols and familiarity with UNC vendors.
