Technical Business Analyst Description
In this role, you will work closely with our cloud engineering, database, and security teams to deliver best-in-class software to address those industry problems.
As a Technical Business Analyst for the IT Operations and Security Group, your role will be to work in between the business and the engineering teams to help bring technical requirements to life.
To support this, the technical business analyst will understand and break down the requirements and needs into technical work, documenting the requirements and path into tickets and grouping them logically for the engineering team to execute on.
To succeed in this role, the backlog and requirements that drive our work should be put together in a way that the team can see high-level business needs and individual breakdowns of technology requirements.
This will require an understanding of the technical stack, the impact of changes, and the necessary flow of information to achieve the output goals.
The ability to identify roadblocks and proactively seek ways to remove them makes this role an indelible asset to the team's success.
Responsibilities
• Help triage, investigate, and resolve defects when needed.
• Acts as a liaison between the product and the engineering team to ensure accuracy between project requirements and development work.
• Identify and remove impediments and interruptions to team productivity, including cross-team coordination.
• Serves as the domain SME and ensures the team has the information needed to deliver work.
• Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations for future work on our roadmap.
• Convert business requirements into executable Jira initiatives, epics, and stories.
• Facilitate the backlog refinement ceremony and ensure the team has sufficient work ready for development.
• Understand your teams’ roadmap and priorities to effectively prioritize the backlog of work.
• Lead story mapping sessions to drive alignment and determine the viability of upcoming projects.
• Responsible for coordinating release notes for our clients
• Performs high-level QA testing to ensure accuracy between requirements and functionality.
Requirements
• 3+ years of experience in the business analysis discipline
• Demonstrated experience writing user stories in support of agile software development
• Good understanding of the software development life cycle and associated tools such as Jira and GitHub
• Process flow analysis experience while also synthesizing architecture and design best practices.
• Enjoy working with a large variety of services and technologies.
• Strong communication and meeting facilitation skills
• Ability to learn quickly and think creatively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional research and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications
• IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), IIBA Agile Analysis Certification (AAC), IREB Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE), or a comparable certification
• Jira, Lucid, and GitHub experience are a plus.
• Technical background or degree program preferred
• Experience in the logistics industry is a plus.
