We are seeking a talented individual to join our Energy & Power and Casualty Team at Marsh Risk as a Technical Claims Advocate working in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Technical Claims Advocate

We will count on you to:

Provide detailed threshold coverage analysis and strategic advice on incident response and claim notification for complex claims.

Perform factual analyses of new incidents to identify issues of characterization, coverage, exclusions and to develop strategies that optimize client outcomes.

Deliver point-in-time reviews and tailored claim strategies that guide and reassure clients and internal teams.

Manage urgent, media-sensitive or litigated large-loss matters, formulating action plans to minimise client loss and maximise insurance coverage.

Support claims operations advisors and attend meetings with insurers, clients and legal counsel; participate in post-loss meetings and contribute to RFPs and marketing materials.

What you need to have:

Strong background in insurance with hands-on claims experience across ISR, Contract Works and Casualty / Liability lines of business

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer-service orientation.

Proven ability to coordinate and maintain productive relationships with brokers, claim handlers, underwriters, external experts and legal counsel.

Ability to work autonomously, prioritise multiple work streams, and provide mentorship/support to operations staff.
