About The Role:

The Opportunity:
As part of the Procurement & Inventory team, you’ll manage the end to end sourcing of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) spares, supporting critical maintenance and reliability activities at our Whyalla steelmaking operations.
Based in Adelaide’s CBD, this position offers the best of both worlds — exposure to a world class industrial transformation while working from the convenience of the city, with occasional travel to Whyalla.
Your ability to combine commercial acumen with technical understanding will drive innovative, cost effective, and timely procurement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver departmental procurement strategies for assigned MRO categories aligned with business and capital plans.
Manage sourcing, tendering, contracting, and supplier performance across a broad technical portfolio.
Partner with engineering and maintenance teams to achieve operational and commercial excellence.
Interpret technical specifications and drawings to ensure accuracy and fit for purpose decisions.
Ensure compliance with OneSteel’s Delegation of Authority and Procurement policies.
About You:
You’re proactive, analytical, and commercially savvy, with the confidence to operate in both industrial and corporate settings. You bring:
Experience in procurement or technical buying within engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
Strong supplier engagement and negotiation capabilities.
Solid technical literacy and attention to detail.
A drive for continuous improvement and delivering operational value.
