The Technology Strategy and Executive Routines team is seeking a Senior Lead Strategy & Planning Consultant to drive and monitor Wells Fargo's multi-year enterprise technology strategy in partnership with the Technology Leadership team, Corporate Strategy, and key stakeholders across HR, Finance, Risk, Governance, and Communications. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, transparent executive reporting on strategic priorities and operational health, while translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused content for diverse audiences including executives, regulators, and business partners. The ideal candidate brings strong technological expertise, strategic communication and planning skills, and proven project management experience, with the ability to build relationships at all levels and thrive in a fast-paced, highly visible environment where priorities shift frequently. The role focuses on delivering and representing the Wells Fargo Technology storyline across multiple communication channels and venues, while crafting critical business updates, presentations, and documents on technology strategy, priorities, progress, and incidents. Responsibilities include preparing communications for the Operating Committee, Board of Directors, regulators, and executives; maintaining the strategic cycle through regular reviews; and contributing to monthly Technology Business Reviews with C-suite audiences. The position drives execution and measurement of the Technology Strategy through benchmarking, outcome tracking, and executive reporting, while leveraging industry trends to evolve the strategy as needed. It also ensures alignment with corporate planning forums, partners across technology groups and key stakeholders, and promotes organizational change readiness. Strong prioritization, critical thinking under tight deadlines, and delivering timely, reliable service to executives and business partners are essential.
In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to leadership
Develop or influence highly complex business and technical needs across groups and functions
Provide principal level strategic consulting services to client organizations
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges
Deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and guidance to others
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges
Partner with executive management across Wells Fargo to define the business strategy then create and execute corresponding business plans and initiative
Plan, direct, and control the formulate strategic business objectives for assigned business unit
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Technology organizations, with a focus on enterprise location strategy and strategic program execution
Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
Demonstrated ability to operate and thrive in an agile working environment, and to transition existing non-agile teams to an agile and autonomous way of working
Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Experience managing complex projects in a large enterprise environment
Demonstrated creativity in writing and in ideas for delivery of content
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project) skills
