About the opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Tenements Officer within the Regulation and Compliance Division of the Department for Energy and Mining (DEM).
In this role, you will be the key point for managing the lifecycle of mining tenements in South Australia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Processing applications for new mining and exploration tenements, renewals, and variations in line with the Mining Act 1971 and associated regulations.
Preparing and issuing documentation such as leases, licences, maps, and instruments for tenement administration.
Maintaining accurate records in the Mining Register and departmental systems to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
Providing advice and support to industry stakeholders, landowners, and the public on legislative requirements and tenure processes.
Conducting GIS analysis and assisting with spatial data queries to support tenement management.
Collaborating with internal teams and other government agencies to streamline processes and improve regulatory systems.
Contributing to policy and process improvements, ensuring best practice in tenement administration.
