YOUR NEW ROLE
Are you excited by the buzz of live performance? Curious about what happens behind the scenes to bring shows, concerts, and events to life? This traineeship is your chance to step into the industry, learn from experienced professionals, and gain a nationally recognised qualification, all while being paid to learn.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of their career who’s excited to explore theatre and live events. You’ll work towards a CUA40425 Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services, specialising in Staging (Mechanist), all while gaining hands-on experience with real productions.
You’ll be supported by a friendly, experienced team who will guide your on-the-job learning and help you grow your confidence. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you’re enthusiastic, keen to learn, and ready to shine in a dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you.

To be eligible for a traineeship, applicants must:
Have completed Year 12 (or equivalent) with a solid achievement in English, Mathematics and Technology.
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have full working rights (for at least six months prior to applying). Visa Holders must be able to work and study in Australia to be eligible for a traineeship in NSW.
Be willing to commit to the traineeship agreement. Traineeship duration is 18 months (March 2026 – September 2027)
Applicants must not have completed a qualification equal to, or above a Certificate IV level in any similar technical production qualification. For example; completing a Cert IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in any technical production discipline will make you ineligible.
Applicants must show evidence of their capabilities in live production and technical services, and their ability to:
Produce a body of work that demonstrates the ability to respond effectively to workplace requirements associated with live production and technical services, in line with current industry standards, and apply a basic knowledge of trends and traditions in at least one area of technical production. Skills and knowledge may have been acquired through experience or formal study.
