Job Description
We are seeking a physically fit, dedicated, and reliable Thread Compound Manufacturing Technician on behalf of our client in Northeast Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing grease-based lubricants and sealants, involving heavy lifting and working in a demanding environment.
Shift: Monday-Friday at 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
Responsibilities:
• Must be physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy objects, including barrels, bags, and pails.
• Use basic math skills for measuring and mixing ingredients accurately.
• Effectively read, write, and communicate in English to understand and follow instructions.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that can be greasy, dusty, and noisy.
• Follow directions well, prioritize safety, and practice safe lifting techniques.
• Handle tasks such as lifting pails and bags, emptying pails, drums, and bags into a mixer, stacking pails, and wrapping pallets.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
• Fill pails and other containers accurately.
• Perform various miscellaneous tasks as needed to support warehouse operations.
Requirements:
• Physical fitness and ability to lift/move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs).
• Basic math skills for accurate measurements.
• Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work in a sometimes dirty and physically demanding manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to follow instructions and prioritize safety.
• Ownership of steel-toed footwear and coveralls with high-visibility stripes (flame resistance not required).
• Ability to pass drug and ******* tests and a physical fitness test.
