About the team | Ko te rōpū nei
The Temporary Traffic Management Team takes responsibility for overseeing TTM operations within Christchurch city and Banks Peninsula roads. Our team is committed to ensuring that safety is a priority for all those that are working or utilising the transport network, that traffic management is planned, coordinated, and delivered to high standards that appropriately balances between competing needs and 'keeping Christchurch moving'.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei
This role ensures that the impacts on the road are assessed, hazards are managed, and the community is safe when impacted. To ensure this you will be:
Processing Traffic Management Plan submissions
Undertaking road inspections and checking that impacts are managed as agreed with contractors
Engaging in planning and assessment meetings to make sure works or events on the network can be safely accommodated
Responding to customer enquiries and providing information and guidance where needed
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei
To be successful you will have:
Excellent judgement skills and a collaborative and positive approach
At least 7 years' experience in infrastructure-related operations including senior responsibility for TTM planning and/or operations
Relevant engineering related qualification e.g. Bachelor of Engineering Civil (BE Civil), or other qualification with relevant extensive experience
A STMS ABC Non-Practising / Practising or Level 2/3 Non-Practising / Practising qualification,
The ability to make sound decisions that support Road Controlling Authority objectives
Knowledge of planned event delivery in a complex urban environment, and leadership behaviours are essential.

Hours of work - Permanent, Full-time posiions (37.5 to 40 hours per week)
Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $96,465 - $107,183 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
