Trainee Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator
Newcastle/Hunter Valley areas
If you’re building your future in WHS/OHS and want real experience - not just theory - this is a chance to learn the industry from the inside. Robson Civil Projects is offering a hands-on trainee role supporting our HSEQ team across Newcastle and the Central Coast.
For more than 60 years, Robson has delivered civil infrastructure that locals rely on. But what really sets us apart is our people. We’re looking for someone who’s curious, motivated, and ready to grow into a meaningful role in safety and environmental management.
What You Bring
You don’t need years of experience - just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Current WHS/OHS studies or a completed qualification
A genuine interest in safety and environmental practices
An Advanced First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
Solid computer skills
A driver’s licence and White Card
Any construction experience is helpful, but not required
What the Role Looks Like
You’ll be out on sites, working alongside our teams and learning how safety really operates in civil construction.
Expect to:
Assist with inspections, incident follow-ups, and safety observations
Participate in pre-starts and site visits
Help identify risks and support hazard management
Review documentation and contribute to safety and environmental targets
What We Offer
We want you to succeed - and we back that up with:
Competitive pay plus a company vehicle, phone, and laptop
Five weeks of annual leave
Support to continue your studies while working full-time
A friendly, supportive team culture
Access to modern equipment and technology
The chance to be part of projects that shape local communities
At Robson, we’re committed to developing people, not just delivering projects.
If you’re ready to take the first real step in your safety career, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications will close, COB Friday 20th of February, 2026.
Recruiters, thank you for your interest but we are handling this one ourselves.
