Job Description

Purpose:
In advancing the Division of Students vision as Partners in Student Success, the Training and Development Coordinator role, in the Office of the University Registrar, designs, develops, and delivers various learning activities for employees and people leaders by supporting the advancement of training programs, maintaining learning resources and documentation, and overall project coordination and evaluation of training initiatives.This role requires a student-focused professional who shares and lives our divisional values: Courage, Connection, and Empathy. Education:
Undergraduate degree in a related field such as Education, Psychology or Business or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.Completed coursework in education/learning strategies, human resources, and/or training and development.

Experience:
2 years recent, related work experience in learning design, development, teaching, delivering presentations and/or workshops, designing and developing training, and/or applying project management methodologies and practices, and/or program planning and evaluation. Experience working with adult learners and working in a post-secondary environment.

Skills:

Effective communication skills including presentation skills.
Effective interpersonal skills including group facilitation, ability to assess and refer participants to other learning opportunities as required.
Effective customer service skills with a service focused mindset.
Demonstrated ability to deliver professional learning - virtual and in-person workshops, self-guided resources, maintain online training materials, and interpretations of academic material.
Effective time management and project coordination skills to work in an area of high volume.
Effective analytical and good judgement including creative problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and independently.
Intermediate knowledge of Word Processing, project management tools, and Presentation software, such as (Office 365 and Office suite of products.
Skills in Instructional design methodology and theories (e.g., ADDIE, Community of Inquiry, e-learning design, and development, etc.), various content authoring and educational technologies (e.g., Articulate, Microsoft Office 365, Canva, Miro, Mural, etc.), and learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, etc.).
Ability to engage different audiences for learning and development (e.g., students, front-facing staff, behind-the-scenes staff, etc.).
Ability to maintain confidentiality.Additional knowledge required:
Working knowledge of promotion and marketing, including general graphic design, such as, designing and editing advertisement materials, reports, and presentations.
Understanding of AODA and compliance.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30AM â?? 4:30PMSummer: Same as aboveRequests to work overtime may occur periodically throughout the yearPeak periods: February, August, October, November based on preparation and delivery of key learning experiences to staff.Vacation restriction: Vacation may be restricted during periods of time sensitive projects requiring completion and peak periods.
