Qualifications
A sound understanding or aptitude to learn the Transloading of liquid commodities including hazardous materials
Understands, or willing to learn, railroad operations and safety
Mechanically Inclined
Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation
Positive attitude and a good team member
Must pass a pre-employment reference checks, drug screen and criminal background check
Able to routinely lift 50-lbs
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions: extreme wind, snow, rain, heat and cold
Must be able to attend and pass all courses associated with job related coursework
This includes, but it not limited to: RSO (refinery safety overview) CSO (Chevron Safety Orientation) LACC & Chevron Backround check
Willing to reliably fulfill a rotational schedule
High School Diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
If so, Savage is seeking a Temporay Transload Helper who's primary responsibility is to safely and timely, assist the Loader in loading and unloading railcars with LPG products within our customer’s facility
Pay 22.00 per hour
Night shift 10-12 hours depending on work load
The Temporary Transload helper’s primary responsibility is to assist the Loader load and unload railcars with LPG products within our customer’s facility
Prepare the rail tank cars for loading; including a thorough inspection
Will follow written procedures to load and unload unit trains and manifest railcars of LPG products using fixed loading racks
General Maintenance ("bolt on –bolt off") as well as cleaning, housekeeping
Communicate with other train crew members and other invested parties, by radio, signals or by other means to aid in the movement and operation of trains
Handle problems as they arise and initiate steps to resolution
Commit to Safe work practices through situational awareness, following standard operating procedures, receiving constructive criticism and watching out for the health and wellness of others
Take an active role in the site’s safety program including participation in safety meetings, conducting facility inspections and participating in behavioral observations
Partner with the Operations team to ensure the facility operates smoothl
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Able to complete the physical aspects of the job including opening and closing railcars dome lids, climb railcars (heights), crawl under railcars, walk long distances on uneven terrain, etc
