F2F is Mandatory. This senior Data Engineer/Architect position will be responsible for the SQL server database administration and architecture and is integral to Apollo's current and future operations and will require coordination with Apollo's business and technical teams and management. The position is for a senior database technologies architect and data engineer. Detailed hands-on SQL server administration skills are required. Apollo is currently processing on SQL server 2026 platforms onWindows operating system to support various applications. Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB technologies are also part of the platform, but only a small portion. Responsibilities: Job Requirements
Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL server software and related products
Evaluate SQL server features and SQL server related products
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
Build solutions on Azure cloud using modern technologies like Azure Data factory, Azure data bricks and Azure Synapse
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
Perform application tuning and performance monitoring
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
Interface with Microsoft for technical support.
Patch Management and Version Control
Participate in off hour and week end support
24x7 support Experience Required: Technical:
7 - 8 plus years of supporting SQL server databases
SQL server administration: SQL server installation (Stand alone and Cluster), patching, Instance creation, schema management, backup/recovery procedures, Analysis, Integration and Reporting services, SQL server clustering, Always-On, In-memory features and overall architecture. Experience supporting SQL server environment in Azure IaaS is a must.
Experience with Oracle Database Appliance and Oracle databases is a big plus.
