Job Description
a US GAAP accountant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that financial statements of a company are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) of the United States. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring that financial statements are accurate, timely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, in accordance with GAAP. Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain Financial Records: Maintain and update financial records, including journal entries, ledger accounts, and trial balance, in accordance with GAAP principles. Ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure that financial statements are in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including SEC regulations and IRS guidelines.
• Monitor Accounting Policies: Monitor changes to accounting policies and standards, and make recommendations for adjustments to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Assist in Audits: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with auditors to ensure timely completion of audits.
• Provide Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and prepare reports on financial performance, including variance analysis and trend analysis.
• Participate in Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, providing guidance on accounting implications.
• Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate financial results to stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and board of directors.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA certification preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or auditing, preferably in an accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and regulations
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
