US Sales Tax Executive / Senior Executive

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced US Sales Tax professional with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in indirect tax compliance for US entities. The role involves managing end-to-end sales tax compliance, filings, reconciliations, and client coordination across multiple US states.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle end-to-end US Sales & Use Tax compliance for multiple clients
• Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns
• Manage nexus analysis, taxability mapping, and state registrations
• Perform sales tax reconciliations between GL, reports, and returns
• Handle sales tax notices, audits, and correspondence with state authorities
• Ensure accurate application of state, county, city, and special district taxes
• Maintain and update exemption certificates and resale documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams and US clients to resolve tax-related queries
• Stay updated on US sales tax laws, rate changes, and compliance requirements
• Assist in process improvements, documentation, and review checklists
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 3–5 years of relevant US Sales Tax experience
• Strong understanding of US sales & use tax regulations
• Experience with multi-state compliance
• Hands-on exposure to tax filing portals of various US states
• Proficiency in Excel (reconciliations, data analysis)
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Avalara, Vertex – preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal client communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA / EA / CA / CA-Inter or equivalent qualification
• Experience working with US accounting or tax firms
• Exposure to sales tax audits and notices handling
• Knowledge of Wayfair nexus rules and economic nexus thresholds
