VP / AVP - Planning

The role of AVP Planning:
This is an integrated function, wherein the AVP has the entire responsibility for end-to-end project planning, scheduling, monitoring & control across projects. The role ensures complex projects are handled on time by overseeing project planning, team leadership, and project management.
• Decides on proper engineering techniques and milestone sequences for each project stage.
• Sets targets for activities based on each phase of a project plan and ensures it meets client specifications.
• Makes estimations for timescales and costs using MSP and other planning tools.
• Planning includes an end-to-end approach from receipt of customer order until handover and exit.
• Requires last-mile planning of resources: manpower, materials, tools, vendors, subcontractors, internal resources, and site infrastructure.
• Requires accurate measurement of work executed, BOQ variance, scope changes, and subcontractor work.
• Planning is milestone-oriented and requires coordination with PMO and external stakeholders for execution and receivables.
• Drives adoption of ERP, project management systems, and planning methodologies.
• Acts as custodian of budgets, costs, customer experience, employee morale, ethics, and values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor day-to-day project progress and provide weekly/monthly reports.
• Compare planned vs actual progress and highlight deviations.
• Track material wastage and report variances.
• Monthly valuation of work-in-progress and cost forecasting.
• Expense analysis and cost optimization.
• Stakeholder coordination and communication.
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
Work Experience:
• Experience with ERP, MSP, and project management tools.
• Strong estimation, risk identification, and mitigation skills.
Work-Based Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of project planning tools and methodologies.
• Proficiency in MS Office and planning software.
• Leadership and profitability management skills.
