ABOUT US:

Syufy Enterprises is a fast-growing, financially strong Marin-based entertainment and leisure company that owns a variety of businesses, including high-end athletic clubs and spas, restaurants, golf venues, shopping centers, public markets and drive-in theaters. Over the next several years, the company will be rapidly expanding all its brands and looking to invest in new brands.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager reports to the Controller and will perform various duties to manage the month and year-end close process. This includes financial reporting, variance analysis and financial statement review as well as assisting with the annual budgeting process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for VillaSport, SyWest, and Consolidated Syufy Enterprises.
Manage the monthly close to ensure that reports are sent out to all companies on a timely basis.
Analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports for accuracy.
Manage the accounts payable, sales audit, and general ledger groups.
Resolve membership contract and billing issues for VillaSport.
Generate and reconcile VillaSport monthly billing for dues.
Review and clean up balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
Enter Payroll journals for DI/PM, Tri Valley, Bay Jet, Syufy Enterprises, SyWest, and VillaSport.
Reconcile payroll bank accounts – Syufy, SyProperty, and VillaSport companies.
Prepare QRO reports for presentation for DI/PM, VillaSport, Bay Jet, Tri-Valley, G&A Admin Depts.
Participate in annual budgeting process by assisting in the calculation of budget spreads and process final budgets into JDE.
Manage and maintain all project budgets. This includes setting them up and entering budgets into JDE.
Special Projects as assigned by the Controller.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree, required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of five years of accounting experience.
Five years of supervisory experience.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Intermediate to advance level of Excel skills.
Strong working knowledge of MS Word.
