Job title: Visiting Lecturers in International Relations – MA project supervision
Salary: £24.69/hour

The Politics and International Relations team is seeking to appoint two Visiting Lecturers to help with student project supervision on our postgraduate degree programme MA International Relations.
Successful applicants will either hold at least a Masters degree in a cognate area, or have equivalent demonstrable practitioner experience. PhD students are welcome to apply. They will have excellent knowledge of core areas of teaching in the relevant field. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or a similar teaching/training qualification) is desirable.
Successful applicants will have experience of teaching or training in the relevant field(s), providing academic guidance, mentoring and pastoral care to students or trainees, and marking assessments in Higher Education or a professional setting, with positive feedback gained. Experience with online learning environments is desirable.
We are seeking individuals who are: student focused; willing and able to act in a collegial manner; demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and can work flexibly.
Brief Description of Roles and Duties
The appointments will involve marking and contributing to student project supervision. The work an allocation is 17 hours per student per year, including supervision, marking and second marking. Each appointment will likely cover 5-8 students. This opportunity is for a period of 12 months, with renewal possible depending on student numbers.

The starting rate of pay for marking and project supervision for Visiting Lecturers is £20.98 per hour plus £3.71 holiday pay per hour.
