Introduction: o Member of the ‘Risk - Centre of excellence’ in Mumbai, leading the Country Risk team. o Lead and independently run the overall Country risk framework working closely with all the risk pillars across Credit, Counterparty Credit, Market risk and Treasury. o Drive, engage and deliver strategic, individual and operational business objectives/targets. Create an empowering environment for people, encouraging individual ownership and initiative. o Ensure target achievement adhering to Service Level Agreements o Collaborate and influence Senior Management and other Risk colleagues to ensure effective risk management o Create a control exemplary process and drive improvements and innovation. o Coordinate with CoREs and other Risk colleagues as necessary with respect to providing relevant information related to Country Risk. o Communicate and Coordinate with IVU related to model risk management. Ensure effective controls are applied for all parameters. What will you be doing? o Complete ownership Manage setting and monitoring of the Country Risk (Across Credit Treasury and Market Risk) – a key measure of risk; the bank is willing to accept in its pursuit of business objectives. o Motivate and lead a team o Review and manage the Country Risk model which includes but are not limited to Model reviews, front facing IVU reviews, model validation, driving remediation and strategic solutions. o Supervise and guide the teams to run the country stress expected loss limits and breaches with analysis and monitoring of various underlying factors. o Oversees and drives key governance and monitoring of countries with elevated risk through various frameworks and forum submissions. o Identify internal and external risks to the portfolio and assess the impact of various events (e.g. country, market events) on the portfolio. o Drive various key initiatives related to technology, methodology and reporting for Country risk framework What we’re looking for: o Strong track record in risk management with a leading Corporate and/or Investment Bank (10yrs+). o Experience with leadership/managerial skills in a dynamic environment. o Strong verbal & written communications and presentation skills. o Staff Management including – Performance Management (Mid-year & Full year Objective setting and appraisal and promotion processes) o Strong understanding of Credit and Market Risk management and various products in Banking book, Trading book and various Risk measurement and metrics. o Highly analytical mind with attention to detail. o Strong organisational and multitasking ability MBA qualification with CFA, FRM or equivalent Skills that will help you in the role: Good commercial experience working within Credit, preferably in an international banking environment.
