General Job Description:
The incumbent is responsible for the receiving and warehousing of items delivered to this location. They must provide a safe and clean work environment for all employees. Loads and unload vehicles as per procedure, while providing friendly, effective, professional customer service. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license, and forklift certification a definite asset.
Must be comfortable with heavy lifting in a fast-paced customer service environment. Weight ranges up to 65lbs.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
1. Greets every customer in a friendly, welcoming manner.
2. Loads each vehicle with great care and accuracy.
3. Ensures the customer receives the product they have paid for and marks the receipt.
4. Handles all customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and respect.
5. Notifies the in-store staff and management of out of stocks/low stock.
RECEIVING
1. Verifies that all deliveries are for their location.
2. Checks order for shortages, damages and quality ensuring they are noted on the delivery trucks packing slips before they leave the warehouse.
3. Follows all government regulations pertaining to handling of feed and chemicals.
4. Checks all expiry dates on items to ensure a sufficient window of time to sell them.
5. Submits invoices daily to Manager to be priced efficiently.
WAREHOUSING
1. Collaborates with Manager and other warehousing staff to enact a warehouse plan that accommodates the seasonal nature of our business.
2. Follows the rotation method of storage and stock to minimize out of date items.
3. Properly utilizes shelf space: large shelving accommodates large items; small shelves hold small items. Attempts to keep aisle tidy/clear of pallets.
4. Follows all government regulations concerning handling, storage, tracking and disposal with specific attention to detail for CFIA and Chemical storage protocols.
5. Takes all steps necessary to minimize damage by ensuring items are placed in the pre-determined location as per the Warehouse Supervisor.
6. Acquires all training certificates as required by law for the position.
7. Maintains an attractive appearance of interior and exterior of warehouse. Ensuring cleanliness: no garbage, spilled feed, etc.
8. Follows steps to deter rodents.
9. Repairs all damaged items immediately and notifies store staff for quick sale.
ORDERING
1. Notifies the Manager and in-store staff of out of stocks.
2. Makes suggestions to the Manager on inventory levels.
DRIVE THRU
1. Ensures the drive thru is restocked and clean daily.
2. Ensures Dog food are restocked daily.
3. Rotates product with season.
4. Cleans and maintains the warehouse as well as the outside storage area to provide a positive presentation.
5. Displays products in front of store as per season.
OTHER
1. Assists in the store as required.
2. Takes inventory as per schedule.
3. Makes deliveries as per schedule.
4. Participates in Chick Days, as needed.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
