CHCH News, the leading news source in the Golden Horseshoe, is looking for an innovative Web Content Creator to bring fresh, engaging content to our online platforms. We serve the dynamic communities of Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara with a commitment to high-quality journalism across TV, digital, and social media.

Position Details: Full-time 12-month contract in Hamilton Ontario (5 days per week, including every weekend)
What you’ll do:
Present insightful, accurate and engaging local news and sports stories for broadcast and digital
Source breaking news, monitor trends, and engage with audiences across platforms
Work closely with our Morning Live, Evening News, and Trending Now teams to upload and amplify content
Manage and grow CHCH News’ digital presence, ensuring relevance and engagement
Take certain news streams live on multiple platforms
Set up and conduct interviews
Instruct news crews on digital platform newsgathering
Conduct research, maintain sources, and keep up-to-date with local news and even
What you bring:
One or more year(s) of experience in digital news writing and video production
Strong editorial judgement and decision-making skills
Excellent spelling, grammar, and organizational skills
Knowledge of SEO best practices
Skills in Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, WordPress, and social media tools
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends
Proficient in CP Style
Journalism diploma or equivalent relevant experience
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Familiarity with ENPS is a plus
Knowledge of Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara news and key figures is a strong asset
