Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a skilled and experienced manager to lead a high-performance Tier 3 Wintel Server operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the team and ensuring smooth and efficient management of our Windows Server environment. The role includes incident management, server lifecycle management, compliance, and patching while working closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, system stability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Include:
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a Tier 3 operations team, ensuring high levels of performance, technical competence, and employee engagement.
• Incident Management: Oversee and manage the resolution of complex incident tickets, break/fix issues, and escalations.
• Server Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of Windows servers, from provisioning and configuration to decommissioning.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure servers are in full compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.
• Patch Management: Coordinate and oversee patching activities, ensuring timely updates and minimal system disruption.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvements within the operations team.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT and infrastructure teams to coordinate projects, share best practices, and ensure system integration.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of processes, procedures, and configurations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
• Proven experience in managing a Tier 3 or similar technical operations team
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex problems, propose practical solutions, and manage incidents
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 201+, 2026)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain technology in simple terms while managing technical experts
• Proficiency in architecting and deploying infrastructure technology solutions in large-scale environments
• Strong experience with Windows Group Policy, Active Directory and Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
• Experience deploying and maintaining virtual machines in a VMware vSphere environment
• Functional knowledge of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancing, VLAN segmentation, etc.
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of successful experience in Windows Server operations with at least 3 years’ experience in a management or lead role, OR 12 years’ experience with 8+ years of successful experience in Windows Server operations with at least 3 years’ experience in a management or lead role.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
• Experience with DFARS/NIST compliance controls
• Experience with technical project management
• Previous success in developing standards, process improvement, and managing processes
• Strong learning capacity for software tools and technologies

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $1+5700

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
