This unique role offers the opportunity to support artists and craftspeople with disability to explore woodworking and creative practice in a welcoming, inclusive studio environment that fosters connection, confidence and purpose.

As a Woodwork Studio Assistant, you will support participants with disability to design and create woodworking and craft projects within the Talbot Maker Space. Working closely with the Program Coordinator, you will assist with delivering a range of programs including beginner workshops, supported studio sessions, and participant-driven creative projects.

This is a casual position and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on creative work and making a meaningful contribution to inclusive community programs.

About you
You will be someone who brings warmth, creativity and a person-centred approach to your work. You enjoy supporting others to explore their abilities, value inclusive practice, and are comfortable working in a collaborative and community-focused environment.

To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
Basic woodworking skills (minimum 3 years’ experience)
Experience or interest in working in a creative or studio-based environment

An interest in person-centred practice, collaboration and supporting self-determination
Strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive, respectful practice
