Job description
We are seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer with expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable big data solutions. They should have a deep understanding of big data technologies and be able to handle large-scale data processing, storage, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Data Pipeline Development: Design and develop robust data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and processing using big data technologies.
• Data Warehousing: Implement and manage data warehouses and data lakes to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
• ETL Processes: Build and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure efficient data flow and transformation.
• Data Analysis: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data modeling and analysis activities.
• Cloud Integration: Deploy and manage big data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), leveraging cloud-native services.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of big data systems to ensure efficient processing and storage.
• Security and Compliance: Implement data security and compliance measures to protect sensitive data.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architectures, pipelines, and processes.
Technical Skills and Requirements:
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Big Data Technologies: Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase.
• Cloud Platforms:
• AWS: EMR, Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, CloudFormation
• Azure: HDInsight, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB
• GCP: BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Bigtable
• Data Warehousing: Experience with data warehousing solutions like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse Analytics.
• ETL Tools: Proficiency with ETL tools like Apache Nifi, Talend, Informatica.
• Databases: Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• DevOps Tools: Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI.
• Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and Git workflows.
Qualifications:
• Must have 7+ years of real time work experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in big data engineering roles with a strong understanding of big data architectures and technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
