Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Workday Test Manager to lead and manage the testing lifecycle for Workday implementation and upgrade projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, Financials, Benefits, and Talent Management. This role demands a technical understanding of Workday functionality, integration points, and data workflows, combined with strong test management and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy for Workday projects, including functional, regression, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Define test plans, scope, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with project stakeholders.
• Identify testing tools and frameworks best suited for Workday environments.
• Oversee the end-to-end test lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Coordinate the creation of detailed test cases, scenarios, and scripts for Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Financials, Talent Management). Conduct system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate end-to-end functionality.
• Manage testing of Workday integrations with third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flows.
• Oversee defect tracking, triage, and resolution in coordination with development and functional teams.
• Monitor test environment configurations and ensure consistency across development and production.
• Manage and track defects, ensuring timely resolution through collaboration with technical teams.
• Lead and mentor the testing team, ensuring proper allocation of resources and skill development.
• Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the testing process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Workday consultants, developers, and business analysts.
• Define test automation strategies using Tricentis Automation Tool or Opkey
• Identify opportunities for test automation and implement solutions to reduce manual effort.
• Ensure scalability and reusability of test cases across projects.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment of testing efforts with business requirements and compliance standards.
• Present testing outcomes and quality assurance metrics to executive leadership.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and Workday methodologies.
• Maintain thorough documentation of test cases, plans, and outcomes for audit and knowledge-sharing purposes.

Qualifications

Core Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Experience:
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 7+ years of Workday-specific testing experience.
• Expertise in at least 2+ Workday modules (e.g., Core HCM, Payroll, Financials, or Talent Management).
• Hands-on experience with Workday reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics validation.
• Experience in managing test efforts for Workday integrations, APIs, and EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder).
• Familiarity with global compliance requirements related to HR, payroll, and financial processes.
• Minimum 5 years of Strong Automation experience using Tricentis or Opkey
• Strong understanding of Workday Studio, calculated fields, and condition rules for advanced test scenarios.
• Expertise in developing and managing test data for various Workday modules.
• Knowledge of test management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
