Job Description:
As an Assistant Fashion Designer at Feathers Closet, you will play a crucial role in bringing our designs to life. You will work closely with our head designer to create and develop new collections, from concept to final product. Your responsibilities will include sketching, fabric selection, pattern making, and assisting in the overall design process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating design concepts and sketches for new collections.
- Conduct research on fashion trends, colors, and materials.
- Collaborate with the design team to select fabrics, trims, and embellishments.
- Prepare detailed technical sketches and specs for sample production.
- Work with the production team to ensure samples meet design expectations.
- Assist in fittings and make necessary adjustments to designs.
- Maintain an organized design studio, including managing samples and materials.
- Contribute to the development of seasonal mood boards and presentation materials.
- Support the head designer in all aspects of the design process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in fashion design or a related role.
- Strong sketching and illustration skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Knowledge of garment construction and fabric properties.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
