This PhD opportunity focuses on investigating the effects of government-funded childcare on children's wellbeing.
The Study Background: England's childcare policy has undergone significant changes in recent years, including the introduction of 30 hours of government-funded childcare per week for 3- and 4-year-olds.
The Research Questions: This study aims to explore the perceived impact of these changes on child wellbeing through a mixed-methods approach combining qualitative and quantitative data.
Methodology: This project involves content analysis of anonymised nursery reports and observations provided via digital apps to parents. These will be co-analysed with parents to gain insight into the impact of government-funded childcare on children.
