The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical testing and accounting expertise, requiring a deep understanding of accounting standards, double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, and taxation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review business and accounting requirements to design and execute test cases for accounting software.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing on financial modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Taxation, Payroll).
• Validate that double-entry bookkeeping principles are applied correctly across all transactions.
• Ensure accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of ledgers.
• Test compliance with relevant tax rules and regulations (e.g., VAT, GST, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax).
• Identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution with the development team.
• Collaborate with product managers, accountants, and developers to refine requirements and test coverage.
• Conduct end-to-end testing of accounting workflows, including financial reporting and statutory statements.
• Provide input on usability, performance, and accuracy from an accountant's perspective.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA/ACCA certification preferred).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of taxation frameworks (domestic and international exposure preferred).
• Prior experience in software testing or QA for financial applications is an advantage.
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) is desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills to liaise between technical and non-technical teams.
