Job Title: Accountant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our construction company. The ideal candidate will manage all financial aspects of our construction projects, from initial entries to finalization and statutory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Financial Entries: Record and maintain all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Budget Management: Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure projects stay within budget.
Invoice Processing: Process and approve invoices from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Expense Tracking: Track project expenses and conduct cost analyses to identify areas for cost savings.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines specific to the construction industry, including tax filings and statutory reporting.
Audits: Conduct internal audits to ensure financial operations are accurate and efficient, and prepare for external audits.
Inventory Management: Track and reconcile project inventory, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
Supplier Payments: Review and approve payments to suppliers and contractors, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure all financial aspects of projects are on track and aligned with company goals.
System Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in financial systems and procedures, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle Erp NetSuite,SAP or other relevant software.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
