We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our restaurant operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial regulations. This role involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and contributing to financial decision-making. Roles and Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Generate reports on financial performance, trends, and forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial results. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance and variances, making adjustments as needed. Identify areas for cost control and efficiency improvement. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments. Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections. Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions. Payroll and Tax Compliance: Process payroll accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements. Prepare and file sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory filings. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and costs. Conduct regular inventory reconciliations. Work with management to optimize inventory turnover and minimize waste. Financial Analysis and Decision Support: Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions. Collaborate with management to develop pricing strategies and menu engineering. Evaluate investment opportunities and return on investment (ROI). Audit and Compliance: Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely completion. Maintain accurate financial records for compliance with GAAP standards. Implement and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Vendor Relations: Liaise with vendors and negotiate favorable terms. Review contracts and agreements for financial implications. Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (e.g., Zoho, Tally) for efficient financial management. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in restaurant accounting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). Proven experience as an Accountant in the restaurant or hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills to present financial information effectively.
