Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Accountant based out of our Chennai office. The role involves end-to-end financial management, including:
Handling all money flowing into and out of the company
Managing campaign-related expenditures and reimbursements
Overseeing salary disbursals and vendor payments
Ensuring books are updated, GST and TDS are filed, and compliance is maintained
Assisting with audits, budgeting, and financial reporting
You will be responsible for maintaining the financial backbone of our growing team and high-speed project environments.
Key Responsibilities
Daily bookkeeping (using Tally or Zoho)
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Processing staff salaries and petty cash expenses
Generating and following up on client invoices
Filing GST and TDS returns in coordination with our CA
Preparing monthly cash flow and spend reports
Managing documentation of vouchers, bills, and approvals
Coordinating with vendors and maintaining local financial contacts
Handling operational finances related to campaign spends
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced or project-based environment
Working knowledge of Tally ERP or Zoho Books
Proficiency in GST, TDS, invoice generation, and payroll basics
Comfortable with Excel and digital record keeping
Strong attention to detail and integrity
Ability to speak Tamil and English fluently
Availability to work full-time from our Chennai office
Optional (but preferred)
Prior experience handling finances for NGOs, political campaigns, or event-based setups
Familiarity with campaign budget handling, including cash-based expenditures and settlements
