A&W Restaurants in Vernon, BC, is seeking an Accountant to start immediately at our Vernon, BC, office.
Base Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
Benefits include an extensive single or family Medical/Dental Benefit comprised of Pharmaceuticals, Hospital Care, Paramedical, Medical Equipment, Travel, VisionCare, Basic and Optional Life, AD&D, along with an optional Group RRSP.
The McMurray Group is a multi-unit franchise company with A&W restaurants extending across Western Canada. Our working environment is based on respect and listening. Everyone's efforts and results are recognized and celebrated.
Hours per week: 40
Language: English
Education: Post secondary required
The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail and knowledge of regional laws/regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare period and month end financial statements
• Cash Management
• Reconcile transactions
• Electronic Filing of documents in document management system
• General Accounting duties include but not limited to GST, PST and WCB filing
Qualifications:
• Degree in accounting or related financial field, where designation is recognized by or equivalently certified with accounting designation such as, Certified General Accountants Association of Canada, Canadian Securities Institute or Canadian Bookkeepers Association
• Strong math skills
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Excellent written and oral communications
• Ability to handle information confidentially
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct accounting software preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 business applications
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues
