About our Team
Our Elsevier Group Reporting team is responsible for delivering timely and accurate consolidated financial information. We work in a multi-currency environment with monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines for actuals, forecasts and budget submissions and consolidation.
About the Role
You will report monthly and quarterly financial results including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow for actuals, forecasts and budget. This role is involved in the analysis and modeling of currency impacts on financial results and cashflow. Elsevier operates in a multi-jurisdictional,multi-currency environment, it involved in the analysis and modelling of currency impacts on financial results and cashflow, which includes hedge accounting. You work closely with stakeholders (FPA, Treasury, Credit & Collections) to deliver on cashflow-related metrics.
Responsibilities
• Communicating complex concepts and financial trends to a variety of senior stakeholders
• Operating in a very dynamic and changing environment that requires speed and accuracy in tight deadlines
• Identifying priorities for process improvements and recommendations around financial reporting and delivering according to plan
• Performing monthly and quarterly actual reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submission of IFRS balance sheet, P&L and cash flow
• Leading the semi-annual cash flow forecasting process and generate realistic and achievable cash collection targets
• Seeking ways to continuously create efficiency, redesign reporting packages and identify opportunities to automate processes
Requirements
• Able to collaborate, support and drive team members to deliver on results, providing technical and professional guidance
• Experience with financial accounting standards, techniques and internal and external audit standards, SOX controls
• Have business skills as project management, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
• 10 + years of experience in financial reporting and analysis role: Group Accounting and Reporting, Corporate Planning in a global finance organization
• Have good people management experience in international environment
